Our GIF search and sharing integration has moved from Tenor to Klipy.
What’s Happening With Tenor
Google has announced that the Tenor API — the service many apps, including ours, use to power GIF search and sharing — will be shut down on June 30, 2026. After that date, integrations that rely on the Tenor API will cease to work.
While Tenor’s website and GIF library may still be accessible in some form, the API used by app platforms like ours will no longer serve requests after that shutdown date.
Why We’re Migrating Before June 30
Rather than wait until the final cutoff, we’re migrating early to avoid any risk of service interruption, degraded performance, or unexpected issues as the shutdown approaches.
Enter Klipy
To replace Tenor, we’re integrating with Klipy, a modern platform that offers a wide library of GIFs that are accessible through its official API. Klipy is already being adopted by other major apps as a Tenor alternative, and its API is designed to be easy for developers to work with, making integration smoother and more reliable for everyone.
You’ll still be able to find and send the content you love, although Klipy’s library of content may differ slightly as compared to Tenor.
